In Dermatology, Less is More
Lessons from Dermatology -
- Use fewer skin products, never more.
- There is only one cream in this world that is proven to smoothen wrinkles (“anti-aging”). It is called Tretinoin.
- And there is only one way to prevent wrinkles… Sunblock with TitaniumOxide or ZincOxide and SPF > 30. Use everyday on face and hands especially.
- Acne is not primarily due to bacteria or dirt living on your face, no matter how hard you scrub it will not go away. See a dermatologist or an experienced Family Doc.
- Dermabrasions and Skin Peels are probably a waste of money.
- Do not use wash-towels for your face. Simple water on your hand will do the job.
- Exfoliation is not good for your skin. In reality, it induces more irritation and does nothing to “unclog your pores”
- Showering more than once a day is never good.
- For very dry skin there are 2 best moisturizers: CeraVe and Aquaphor
