In Dermatology, Less is More

Lessons from Dermatology -

  1. Use fewer skin products, never more.
  2. There is only one cream in this world that is proven to smoothen wrinkles (“anti-aging”). It is called Tretinoin.
  3. And there is only one way to prevent wrinkles… Sunblock with TitaniumOxide or ZincOxide and SPF > 30.  Use everyday on face and hands especially.
  4. Acne is not primarily due to bacteria or dirt living on your face, no matter how hard you scrub it will not go away.  See a dermatologist or an experienced Family Doc.
  5. Dermabrasions and Skin Peels are probably a waste of money.
  6. Do not use wash-towels for your face.  Simple water on your hand will do the job.
  7. Exfoliation is not good for your skin.  In reality, it induces more irritation and does nothing to “unclog your pores”
  8. Showering more than once a day is never good.
  9. For very dry skin there are 2 best moisturizers: CeraVe and Aquaphor
